Set Up Application Status Page
After submitting your application, you will recieve an email from NMT confirming your application submission and giving you instructions to set up a page on Slate.
If you do not recieve your admissions paperwork, or lose your paperwork, contact Holland Oxford (holland.oxford@ejly.net).
Accept Admission and Pay Admission Deposit on Status Page
You can accept admission on the Slate status page and pay your admission deposit.
The admission deposit must be paid before any other steps can be taken.
After accepting your admission, you should review the status page to ensure there no pending requests for documentation.
Banweb manages registration, financial aid, and personal student information. You will use your Student ID ( beginning with "900") to login along with an eight-character PIN in your admission paperwork. For detailed instructions on Banweb click here.
Establish Student Email Account
Instructions for setting up a student email account can be read here. You will receive all official communications from NMT on your student email account. Use this email to communicate with your advisor in future steps.
Complete Financial Aid Process
First, apply for Federal Financial Aid with school code 002654. There is no application needed for merit and NM Lottery scholarships. The financial aid office will contact you as your aid and scholarships are processed. You can also check the status of your financial aid and scholarships on Banweb . To qualify for priority consideration for merit scholarships, submit all documentation and accept your scholarships by March 1.

To live on campus, fill out a Room and Board Application and pay the $200 housing deposit. Check out housing rates for 2021-2022 here. To find out more details about individual residence halls, meal plans and more visit the residential life web page.
Orientation is mandatory for all first-time freshmen and transfer students. Students will have an opportunity to visit the school and speak to faculty and current students. Several orientation dates are available here.
After you have created your NMT email address, Holland Oxford (holland.oxford@ejly.net) will contact you regarding scheduling classes as well as your academic advisor's contact information.
When meeting with your advisor, discuss:
- What classes to take, they will provide APIN for registration
- Four-Year Plan
- Placement test options (Math, English, Music, Foreign Language)
- General questions about department, academics, and life at Tech
Transferring Credits and Dual Credit
Send a copy of your official transcripts to the NMT registrar's office to recieve transfer credit. If you are transfering dual credits/transfer credits, make sure you send a copy of your official college transcripts. Titia Dons Barham (Titia.DonsBarham@nmt.edu) will reach out regarding transfer evaluation and advising.
You may register for classes online via Banweb (APIN required from your faculty adviser) or in person at orientation. Instructions for online registration are here.
Pick up your student ID on campus at the Registrar's office in Fidel Center 2nd floor.

NMT Essentials
- View a full listing of NMT student resources.
- Sign up for Discord to access Office of Student Life (OSL) tutoring online here or visit them and the writing center in person in the first floor of the library. They can help you when you're stuck on a homework problem.
- School computers on campus have software (SolidWorks, MatLab, Linux, etc.) pre-installed that you may need for class. Access school computers using your academic lab password on Banweb, more information here.
- Contact ITC to activate your Student ID card to access 24 hour study labs in Fidel Center and Gold Building, more information here.
